Meikleour village is some ten miles north of the county capital of Perth and just a few miles from the farming town of Blairgowrie and the historic Royal Burgh of Dunkeld. The village is comprised of less than forty houses, including the former Post Office and School House. The village is also served by a renowned Country Inn. Mercer Green is at the heart of the village, with open fields on two sides and a delightful landscaped garden amenity. Within this tranquil setting, there is a choice of seven villas ranging in type and size, all of which will meet a wide range of home and family requirements. The Perthshire vernacular is integral to the house designs, which befit a conservation village of Meikleour’s historical status. This classic form has been skilfully fused with contemporary design to create a development of exquisite housing, that has already drawn widespread praise. Within close proximity of the village are two prominent natural features including the world famous Beech Hedge, planted in Jacobean 1745, which now rises to a majestic 100 feet, and the mighty River Tay. The ski slopes at Glenshee, the fairways of some of Scotland’s most prestigious golf courses and the scenic beauty of the Angus Glens, are all within easy reach. Perthshire is also home to record breaking heritage trees, rolling woodlands filled with wildlife, country gardens, leafy country roads, farmland, lochs and forests, making it a unique, beautiful and diverse place in which to live. |
